Finding Articles: Tips for Getting Started

Popular Research Databases

Here's a list of the most popular places to find magazine and scholarly journal articles. You can search for an article by topic (e.g., Haiti earthquake) or by title and/or author if you know it already. We recommend asking your professor or a librarian for guidance in developing the best search strategy for your topic or discipline.

If you already have a citation in hand, try our citation linker.

Newspapers

The Burritt Library subscribes to several databases that include the full-text of newspaper articles. For many major titles, these databases offer a much deeper archive and more sophisticated searching than can be found on the newspaper's public web sites.
