 Thaddeus Walenty Maliszewski - lawyer, military officer, civic leader. Born in Hartford, Conn. in 1922. Graduate of Hillyer Junior College (Hartford), Wesleyan University (Middletown, Conn.) and University of Connecticut Law School.

During WWII served in the Pacific; member of the National Guard and Governor's Military Staff, finished his military career in the rank of Brigadier General.

Active in many Polish American organizations (vice-president of the Polish American Congress, president of Polish American Congress, District of Conn.), veterans' affairs and Democratic Party. Windsor Municipal Court judge 1955-1960, 1950-1985 private general practice in Windsor and Hartford, Assistant Judge Advocate in US Army. After retirement moved to Jupiter, Florida. Involved in ACPC and other cultural activities in Polish American community.

 CONTENT Personal and official correspondence spanning 1940-1993; large files of clippings on Polish topics; publications and records of Polish Legion of American Veterans, 1947-1958; records of Polish American Congress, District of Connecticut 1958-1984 ; records of national activities of Polish American Congress; records of Pulaski Day Parades, 1962-1967; records of Democratic Party election campaigns in Connecticut, 1952-1980, including Maliszewski's two runs for Probate Judge, 1977-1978; records of American Council for Polish Culture, 1986-1992. In addition there are documents pertaining to: colleges and universities attended by T. Maliszewski, campaign for housing for Connecticut WWII veterans, documents on Maliszewski's military career, Connecticut Supreme Court cases handled by T. Maliszewski, miscellaneous records of the following Polish American organizations and societies: Polish University Club, Polish University Club, Polish-American Democratic Club, Hartford, Pulaski Federation of Democratic Clubs of Conn., SS.
